Penalty, Vigilance and Complaints

Penalty

Under Section 12(1) (B) of Passport Act, 1967 an Applicant can be penalised for suppression of information.

Penalties are levied on Passport applicants who knowingly furnish any false information or suppress any material, fail to produce for inspection his passport or travel document, knowingly use a passport or travel document issued to another person and so on.

Vigilance

In case the applicants face any demand of bribe by any passport official in respect of any passport-related service, they can immediately contact the Chief Vigilance Officer of the Ministry to the:

Complaints and Suggestions

In case the applicants have any complaints regarding the Issuance of Passports and suggestions for the improvement (if any); kindly contact Respective Regional Passport Officer.

Furthermore you can also write/ Telephone/ Fax/e-Mail to the Officers.
