DescriptionKerala, the land of coconuts, was one of the leading states in India in coconut cultivation. But today, the coconut farmers are reeling under pressure of declining production due to pest and diseases on the one side and lowering prices on the other side. In order to save the coconut farmers from this distress, with a total allocation of Rs.1525.00 lakhs, the scheme was launched for the integrated development of coconut holdings aimed at maximizing income from unit area through better agro-management practices and promotion of multi species cropping and farming systems.
